Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology
• Surgical Technician Certification
• Meet the NJ requirements under the Surgical Technologist law to be considered for this opportunity.

• 1 year of surgical scrub experience

Responsibilities

• Responsible for a variety of technical and routine tasks that facilitate the patient's care.
• Delivers care in a prompt and professional manner, maintaining confidentiality and respect.
• Works as part of the care team to meet customer needs and support departmental objectives.
• Prepares for pre-assigned cases using physician preference.
• Sets up the operating room before surgery.
• Opens supplies/instruments utilizing an aseptic technique.
• Passes instruments to surgeons during surgery.
• Follows established policies and procedures related to counting sponges, instruments, etc.
• Initiates corrective action when counts are incorrect.
• Anticipates the needs of the surgical team and communicates effectively to ensure quality of patient care.
• Performs any other duties assigned.
