Requirements

• Graduate from an accredited school of surgical technology.
• Surgical Technician Certification.

Nice To Haves

• One (1) year of surgical scrub experience.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for a variety of technical and routine tasks to facilitate the care of the patient.
• Deliver care in a prompt and professional manner, maintaining confidentiality and respect.
• Work as part of the care team to meet customer needs and support departmental objectives.
• Prepare for pre-assigned cases using the physician's preference.
• Set up the operating room prior to surgery.
• Open supplies/instruments utilizing aseptic technique.
• Pass instruments to surgeons during surgery.
• Follow established policies and procedures related to counting of sponges, instruments, etc.
• Initiate corrective action when counts are incorrect.
• Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and communicate effectively to ensure quality of patient care.
• Perform any and all other duties assigned.
