About The Position

The Certified Surgical Technologist position is located in Glenview, IL, and is a full-time role requiring 40 hours of work per week. The working hours are Monday to Friday, from 6:00 am to 5:30 pm, with an on-call rotation required. The role involves performing scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures, assisting in the preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment, and supplies required for surgical procedures, conducting all instrument, needle, sharps, and sponge counts, as well as handling specimens. Additionally, the technologist will assist in the application of dressings or casts, moving patients, and maintaining inventory in the Operating Room and on carts.

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Graduate of an approved Surgical Technologist school or minimum 3 years’ experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Current CPR certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform scrub person duties during the intraoperative phase of surgical procedures.
• Assist in the preparation and dispensing of instruments, equipment, and supplies required for surgical procedures.
• Conduct all instrument, needle, sharps, and sponge counts, as well as handle specimens.
• Assist in the application of dressings or casts and moving patients.
• Assist in decontamination/reprocessing area when assigned.
• Maintain inventory in Operating Room and on carts.
