About The Position

The CSTFA is a certified surgical technologist who works in collaboration with the surgeon and health care team members to achieve optimal patient outcomes. The CSTFA must have acquired the necessary knowledge, judgment, and skills specific to the expanded role of CSTFA clinical practice. Intraoperatively, the CSTFA practices at the direction of the surgeon and does not concurrently function as a surgical technologist. Requirements

Graduation of an approved Surgical Technology Training Program OR Licensed Practical Nurse with previous scrub experience
Must have completed an accredited CSTFA program.
BCLS Required
2 Years of OR Experience
Surgical Technologist Certification (C.S.T. / N.C.C.T.)
Proven work experience as a Surgical Technician or similar role
Experience with instrumentation in the operating room
Strong understanding of surgical technology and surgical procedure
Knowledge of medical terminology
Passionate about patient care
A graduate of an accredited surgical technologist program and Surgical Technician certification

Prepare the operating room for upcoming surgeries
Sterilize equipment and stock up any necessary supplies
Prepare patients for their procedures
Sterilize equipment and hand surgeons instruments upon request
Order and take inventory of supplies and maintain files and records of procedures
