About The Position

Under the supervision of a Registered Nurse, assists nurses and surgeons with the intraoperative care of the surgical patient. This position is crucial in ensuring that surgical procedures are conducted smoothly and safely, contributing to the overall patient care experience.

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited school of surgical technology or equivalent experience with documentation of similar training.
• Surgical technologist certification required or obtained within 1 year of graduation or eligibility to sit for the exam.
• CPR certification required.
• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) through NBSTA or Tech in Surgery-Certified (TS-C) by NCCT required or obtained within 1 year of graduation or eligibility to sit for the exam.

Responsibilities

• Set up surgical instruments, equipment, and sterile supplies, ensuring compliance with infection control and sterilization standards before, during, and after procedures.
• Hand instruments and supplies to surgeons, monitor equipment, and anticipate the needs of the surgical team to ensure efficient workflow and patient safety.
• Inspect, clean, and maintain surgical instruments and equipment, ensuring they are functional, properly sterilized, and available for use in surgeries.
