Work Schedule: 3pm-11:30pm The Certified Sterile Processing Technician is responsible for preparing, sterilizing equipment/instruments and tracking them in an accurate and timely manner. This role also prepares operating room case carts, sterile trays and supplies for all areas of the hospital.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED (Required)
  • Sterile Processing Technician Certification (Required)
  • Strong Verbal Communications Skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepares instrumentation and equipment for sterile processing.
  • Verifies the sterilization process.
  • Decontaminates and reprocesses all reusable equipment and instrumentation.
  • Checks equipment for cleanliness, functional use; inventories and documents the quantity of each instrument per tray/container and wraps trays and product for sterilization in accordance with established policies and procedures.
  • Performs required biological and Bowie-Dick tests on a daily basis and records corresponding results.
  • Records autoclave load contents and required statistics in a complete and accurate manner.
  • Prepares case carts for the operating room based surgical needs and supplies.
