Bon Secours seeks a Sterile Processing Technician Certified to inspect, clean, assemble, test, and process patient care equipment, supplies, and instruments according to established policies and procedures. This position requires adherence to sterility standards set by various health organizations and involves performing decontamination functions, maintaining inventory, and ensuring quality control in sterile processing. The technician will work evening shifts from 5:00 PM to 10:00 PM and may be required to be on call as scheduled.

  • Perform decontamination functions including manual cleaning and processing of surgical instrumentation and patient care equipment.
  • Apply knowledge of detergents and chemical disinfectants for decontamination.
  • Adhere to standard precautions while performing cleaning and sterilization duties.
  • Inventory, stock, and deliver supplies and equipment to facility areas.
  • Order, restock, label, and maintain proper inventory levels.
  • Perform and document quality control aspects of sterile processing.
  • Operate and understand various sterilizers and sterilizing techniques.
  • Monitor sterilization processes ensuring quality assurance.
  • Document all activities as required and report variances affecting sterile products.
  • Identify and resolve infection control issues.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of operation and testing of sterilization equipment.
  • Identify surgical instrumentation by specialty.
  • Participate in ongoing educational and competency verification opportunities.
  • Participate in the orientation of new staff and students.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST), Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA), or Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
  • Recent experience in a surgical setting (preferred).
