About The Position

The Certified Sterile Processing Technician position is located in the Sterile Processing Department and requires working night shifts from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays. The role involves providing sterile processed materials and equipment to hospitals and affiliated facilities, executing established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and surgical case cart setup practices to ensure quality products for patient care. The position also requires following established procedures to ensure decontamination completion and placing sterile items in appropriate areas for distribution, ensuring accurate labeling by department.

Requirements

• GED/High School Equivalent required.
• Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) strongly preferred.
• Two years of sterile processing or operating room experience in surgical instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital and affiliated facilities with sterile processed materials and equipment.
• Execute established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and surgical case cart setup practices.
• Follow established procedures to ensure decontamination completion.
• Place sterile items in appropriate areas for distribution, ensuring accurate labeling by department.
