About The Position

The Certified Sterile Processing Technician will work in the Sterile Processing Department during night shifts, specifically from 11:00 PM to 7:30 AM, with rotating weekends and holidays required. This position is crucial for providing hospital and affiliated facilities with sterile processed materials and equipment. The technician will execute established procedures for decontamination, assembly, packaging, sterilization, and surgical case cart setup practices, ensuring quality products for patient care. The role also involves following established procedures to ensure decontamination completion and placing sterile items in appropriate areas for distribution, ensuring accurate labeling by department.

Requirements

• GED/High School Equivalent required.
• Certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) or International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management (IAHCSMM) strongly preferred.
• Two years of sterile processing or operating room experience in surgical instrumentation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide hospital and affiliated facilities with sterile processed materials and equipment.

• Follow established procedures to ensure decontamination completion.
