About the position
The position involves collecting, decontaminating, storing, and distributing all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital. The role requires inspection, decontamination, assembly, and sterilization of instruments and other patient care equipment in accordance with processing guidelines, AAMI, AORN, TJC, and OSHA requirements. The individual will operate departmental equipment daily according to manufacturer instructions with an emphasis on safety and provide customer service to all departments with a focus on patient needs. Additionally, the position involves processing and documenting all sterile supplies and equipment daily using chemical, biological, and mechanical indicators to verify sterility in accordance with manufacturer instructions and hospital policy. The individual will also monitor and perform antimicrobial and disinfection solutions testing according to manufacturer instructions and documentation daily.
Responsibilities
- Collects, decontaminates, stores and distributes all reusable supplies and patient care equipment in the hospital.

Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED - Required
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
