The Sterile Processing Instrument Coordinator plays a vital role in maintaining the cleanliness, functionality and inventory of health care instrumentation and equipment. Their work ensures that patients avoid infections and that doctors, nurses and allied health professionals are able to access the instrumentation and equipment they need immediately. Additionally, the incumbent in this position will have supervisory responsibilities by overseeing staff and ensuring tasks are completed throughout the day. This position will have a main focus on instrumentation. SHIFT DETAILS Employment Type: Full-time Hours per Week: 40 hours | 4-10s or 5-8s Shift: Days Schedule: Monday - Friday, varied On Call: Call may be required. Enjoy a flat rate $1/hour weekend shift differential and an 18%-night shift differential when applicable. Initial orientation will occur during the week, on day shift for approximately 12 weeks. POSITION SUMMARY This position supports leadership while performing as an integral part of OR team with additional job requirements and limited supervision. Demonstrates accountability for operating room readiness ensuring sterile surgical instrumentation and disposable supplies are complete and ready for a procedure prior to the preceding patient leaving the operating room. Responsible for the proper care and handling of all general and specialty instrumentation including the cleaning, decontamination, disassemble/reassembly, quality assurance, instrument identification, set assembly, packaging, sterilization, and distribution of surgical instrumentation for PeriOp Services, hospital departments, and clinics.
