About The Position

The Certified Senior Pharmacy Technician at Walgreens plays a crucial role in enhancing customer experience and supporting pharmacy operations. This position involves engaging with customers, assisting with their needs, and ensuring a positive interaction with the pharmacy. The technician will also assist pharmacists in various operational tasks, including prescription filling, inventory management, and maintaining compliance with pharmacy regulations. Additionally, the role includes training and coaching pharmacy staff to improve efficiency and service quality.

Requirements

  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Basic level PC skills (e.g., using a computer, accessing information online).
  • Knowledge of store inventory control.

Responsibilities

  • Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services.
  • Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
  • Model and share customer service best practices with team members.
  • Develop strong relationships with valuable customers.
  • Assist in the practice of pharmacy under the supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Enter patient and drug information accurately into pharmacy systems.
  • Fill prescriptions by retrieving, counting, and pouring pharmaceutical drugs.
  • Report prescription errors to the pharmacist immediately.
  • Register all related sales on the cash register and handle cash as required.
  • Process manual claims for third-party prescription services in a timely manner.
  • Lead pharmacy department inventory management activities.
  • Assist in administering clinical services and coordinating with healthcare providers.
  • Support execution of the Pickup program.
  • Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked and orderly.
  • Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in process efficiency.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
