Additionally, the position involves assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, reporting prescription errors, and adhering to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. The role requires strict adherence to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during all applicable prescription dispensing activities. Other responsibilities include registering sales on the cash register, handling customer inquiries, processing manual claims for third-party prescription services, leading inventory management activities, maintaining knowledge of asset protection techniques, and supporting the Pharmacy Manager and Staff Pharmacist in analyzing pharmacy performance data. The position may also involve assisting in administering clinical services and developing relationships with the local medical community. The role supports the execution of the Pickup program and ensures the Pharmacy Department is well-stocked and orderly. Coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers in efficient processes is also part of the job, along with completing special assignments as assigned.

  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Basic level PC skills (e.g., using a computer, accessing information online).
