The role also includes assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, reporting prescription errors, and adhering to company policies regarding pharmacy errors. The individual will be responsible for registering all related sales on the cash register and handling cash as required. Additional duties include assisting customers in locating products, processing manual claims for third-party prescription services, and leading inventory management activities in the Pharmacy Department. The position may also involve assisting pharmacists in administering clinical services and developing relationships with the local medical community.

  • Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques.
  • Assist in developing relationships with the local medical community.
  • Support execution of the Pickup program.
  • Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked and orderly.
  • Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers on processes and tools.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Basic level PC skills (e.g., using a mouse, starting and closing programs).
