In terms of operations, under the supervision of the pharmacist, the individual will assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Responsibilities include reviewing and complying with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct, performing duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, and utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information. The individual will also fill prescriptions, verify medicine correctness, and check for possible interactions. Reporting prescription errors to the pharmacist and adhering to company policies regarding pharmacy errors is crucial. The role also includes managing inventory activities, assisting with clinical services, and maintaining good relationships with the local medical community.

  • Process manual claims for third-party program prescription services.
  • Lead Pharmacy Department inventory management activities.
  • Assist in analyzing and improving pharmacy financial and customer service performance data.
  • Assist pharmacists in administering clinical services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with the local medical community.
  • Support execution of the Pickup program.
  • Ensure the Pharmacy Department is stocked, clean, and orderly.
  • Coach pharmacy technicians and cashiers in process efficiency.
  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Basic level PC skills.
