The position also involves developing strong relationships with the most valuable customers. Under the supervision of the pharmacist, the candidate will assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Responsibilities include reviewing and complying with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct, performing duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, and utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information accurately. The candidate will fill prescriptions, verify medicines, check for possible interactions, and assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow. Immediate reporting of prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty is required, along with adherence to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. The candidate will also be responsible for registering all related sales on the assigned cash register and handling cash as required. Additional duties include assisting customers in locating products, handling telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention, processing manual claims for third-party program prescription services, and performing clerical duties as assigned. The candidate will lead pharmacy department inventory management activities, maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques, and assist in analyzing pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data. The role may also involve assisting pharmacists in administering clinical services and developing relationships with the local medical community. The candidate will support the execution of the Pickup program and ensure the pharmacy department is stocked, clean, and orderly. Coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the correct use of processes and tools to drive efficiency is also part of the role. Compliance with all company policies and procedures is essential, along with maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers. The candidate will complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
