Under the supervision of the pharmacist, the candidate will assist in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state, federal, and company policy. Responsibilities include reviewing and complying with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct, entering patient and drug information into pharmacy systems, filling prescriptions, and ensuring accuracy in medication dispensing. The candidate will also assist in scheduling and maintaining workflow, report prescription errors, and adhere to company policies regarding pharmacy errors. Additional responsibilities include managing cash register transactions, assisting customers in locating products, handling telephone calls, processing manual claims for third-party prescription services, and performing clerical duties as assigned. The candidate will lead inventory management activities, maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques, and assist in developing relationships with the local medical community. The role also includes supporting the execution of the Pickup program and ensuring the Pharmacy Department is well-stocked and orderly. Coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers, complying with company policies, and completing special assignments are also part of the job. The candidate is expected to maintain certification through the designated training program and attend training sessions to acquire continuing education credits.

  • Maintain knowledge of asset protection techniques.
  • Assist in developing relationships with the local medical community.
  • Support execution of the Pickup program.

  • Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
  • PTCB or ExCPT certification (except in Puerto Rico).
  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Basic level PC skills (e.g., using a mouse, starting and closing programs).
