Pharmacy Code of Conduct, performing duties assigned by the Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, and utilizing pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information accurately. The role also includes filling prescriptions, verifying medicine correctness, and checking for possible interactions. Additionally, the position requires assisting pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, reporting prescription errors, and adhering to company policies regarding pharmacy errors and the Quality Improvement Program. The role is responsible for registering all related sales on the assigned cash register and handling cash as required. It also involves assisting customers in locating products, handling telephone calls that do not require the pharmacist's personal attention, processing manual claims for third-party program prescription services, and performing other clerical duties as assigned. The position leads pharmacy department inventory management activities, maintains knowledge of company asset protection techniques, and assists in analyzing pharmacy financial, customer service, and inventory performance data. The role may also assist pharmacists in administering clinical services and developing relationships with the local medical community. The position supports the execution of the Pickup program and ensures the Pharmacy Department is stocked, clean, and orderly. Coaching pharmacy technicians and cashiers in the correct use of processes and tools to drive efficiency is also part of the role. The position requires compliance with all company policies and procedures and maintaining respectful relationships with coworkers. Special assignments and other tasks may be assigned as needed.

  • One year of work experience as a pharmacy technician in a retail or hospital setting.
  • Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.
  • Willingness to obtain active immunization certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Prior work experience with Walgreens.
  • Basic math skills (counting, measuring, and weighing medications).
  • Basic level PC skills (e.g., using a mouse, starting and closing programs).
