About The Position

The position involves instructing students in one or more subjects, which includes administering and grading tests, preparing lesson plans and necessary supplies, and maintaining discipline within the classroom. Additionally, the role requires maintaining accurate records and files. For student athletes, the teacher will analyze their performance and provide instruction on game strategies and techniques to prepare them for athletic competition.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from 4-year college or university
Must possess a valid state teaching certificate in the area of subjects taught
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating
Must meet and maintain pre-employment and periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care
Must be able to operate standard office machines and equipment
Media Production/Communications Teacher - Business certification or other relevant certification (for School Year 2026-2027)
If performing duties of a Coach or Assistant Coach: May be required to obtain and maintain a Class B CDL with air breaks and passenger endorsement and a bus driving certificate
If performing duties of a Coach or Assistant Coach: Must complete and maintain all certifications and trainings that are required by OSSAA (Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association) and Sequoyah High School
