About The Position

All respiratory products including, but not limited to: Nebulizers, CPAP, BIPAPS, Non-Invasive Ventilator Devices, Pulse Oximeters, Home Ventilators, Apnea Monitors, Cylinders, Compressors, Oxygen Concentrators, and Suction Machines, etc. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating quality patient care for clinical patients age neonate to geriatrics. Under the general supervision of the Medical Products Respiratory Care Manager, responsible for the set-up and follow-up of respiratory patients in the home. The therapist is responsible for re-structuring equipment and patient safety. Also reviews and re-enforces how to use the equipment. The employee is subject to call back and overtime as required by the hospital.

Requirements

  • Skill and proficiency in the principles, concepts, and techniques of the respiratory care profession, as well as home respiratory equipment through the completion of an Associate or Bachelors degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • Maintains a minimum of CRTT certification, but RRT preferred.
  • Maintains state licensure.
  • Proficiency in current practices and techniques of Respiratory Care and the knowledge of departmental and hospital policies and procedures as acquired through 2-year experience.

  • Home medical experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains accurate and proper records for respiratory patient files.
  • Responsible for set-up, instruction, delivery, and trouble-shooting of respiratory equipment and appropriate documentation.
  • Responsible for the routine maintenance and follow-ups of respiratory products in the customer's home.
  • Responsible for monitoring and assisting with the cleaning and storage of respiratory equipment.
  • Responsible for re-instructing in equipment and patient safety.
  • Responsible for the assessment of the overall environment, patient compliance, and modification of care plans for respiratory patients.
  • Provides quality customer service for patients, vendors, and co-workers.
  • Performs equipment testing.
  • Attends in-services on products as required.
  • Responsible for loss/damage to any MCMP equipment used in job duties.
  • Responsible for verifying insurance and precepting as necessary on all CPAP/BIPAP equipment.
