Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist
About The Position
Job Summary: Review with the responsible attending anesthesiologist the pre anesthetic assessment and evaluation of the patient. Develop and carry out an anesthetic plan under the direction of the anesthesiologist. Provide continuous vigilant observation of patients, correcting abnormal patient responses and seeking consultation where appropriate. Complete an accurate and timely anesthetic records for EPIC. Ensure patient stability and safe transfer to the PACU or ICU. Manage emergency situations, including initiating and participating in cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Take appropriate precautions to minimize risks of infection. Maintain confidentiality of patient information. The CRNA could be working in multiple locations to include: Adult and Pediatric OR at University Hospital, Cancer Center and several one day surgery centers affiliated with the hospital.
Requirements
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Nursing
- Licensed as a RN in New York State
- Minimum of one (1) year of RN experience in an acute care setting
- Successful completion of both an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program and the national certification examination required
- Current ACLS, PALS and BLS certification required through the American Heart Association
