About The Position

Palmetto General Hospital is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join our Anesthesia Department. The CRNA will be responsible for the administration of anesthesia and anesthesia-related care in collaboration with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals. The ideal candidate will demonstrate sound clinical judgment, exceptional patient care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Requirements

Master's or Doctorate degree from an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
Current Registered Nurse (RN) license and CRNA certification in Florida.
National Board of Certification and Recertification for Nurse Anesthetists (NBCRNA) certification.
Minimum of 5 years of clinical anesthesia experience preferred, but new graduates will be considered.
Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS); Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) may be required depending on patient population.
Strong clinical judgment and critical-thinking skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
Proficiency in electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
Commitment to patient-centered care and safety.
Must clear background and drug test required.

Responsibilities

Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations including medical history, physical examination, and assessment of diagnostic data.
Develop and implement an individualized anesthesia care plan.
Administer general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care for surgical, therapeutic, diagnostic, and obstetrical procedures.
Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthetic levels accordingly during procedures.
Ensure patient safety and comfort throughout the perioperative process.
Provide post-anesthesia care, including monitoring and management of complications.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the medical record.
Respond to emergency situations with appropriate interventions, including airway management and resuscitation.
Participate in departmental meetings, quality improvement initiatives, and continuing education.
Adhere to hospital policies, state and federal regulations, and professional standards.
