About The Position

We are a Multi-Specialty Independent Practice specializing in Pulmonology, Sleep Medicine and Rheumatology looking for an enthusiastic full time (35-40 hours per week) Registered/Certified Medical Assistant. Candidate will be cross-trained in all specialties. Job duties to include all as described below. Pulmonary function testing experience a plus or candidate will be trained. THE CORE HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE MONDAY - FRIDAY FROM 9AM TO 5PM (NON-NEGOTIABLE). Candidate must be flexible to work at least 1 late night per week until about 6pm. Must be a team player and have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a medical office setting. Certified/Registered Medical Assistant Job Description/Duties: - Handling Physician’s clinical floor - Bringing patients into the exam rooms - Taking and recording all vital signs - Preparing patient charts for Physicians including entering patient medical and social history into EMR, accurate and detailed medication list reconciliation. - Answering/triaging clinical phone lines and pharmacy inquiries - Obtaining prior authorizations for medications and sending prescription refills - Setting up home sleep studies and devices - Following up with DME companies regarding various medical equipment and supplies - Performing pulmonary function tests, flow volume loops and Feno tests - Assisting with Thoracentesis Procedures - Administering various vaccines and a wide range of subcutaneous biologic injections - Preparing corticosteroid injections for the physician - Performing EKGs - Performing COVID-19/Viral swabbing as needed - Performing PT/INR, Urinalysis dipstick tests and Rapid Strep tests as needed - Obtaining test results from outside facilities - Scanning Documents into EMR - Completing disability forms and other clinical paperwork as assigned - Scheduling appointments - Cleaning, organizing and stocking exam rooms - Clean and sterilize instruments and equipment - Dispose of medical waste according to established procedures

Requirements

  • Valid CMA Certification
  • Experience in a medical office setting
  • Experience administering vaccines and subcutaneous injections
  • Medical Knowledge: medications and diagnoses
  • Must be a team player and have a minimum of 2 years clinical experience in a medical office setting.
