About The Position

Centurion is proud to be the provider of comprehensive services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a Full-time Recreational Therapist to join our team at Joliet Treatment Center Located in Joliet, Illinois. Under the direction of professional mental health staff, the Recreation Therapist will use recreational activities to accomplish treatment objectives, foster skill building and problem solving in support of psychological stabilization for patients in a correctional setting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field required.
• Certification as a Recreational Therapist (CTRS) required.
• Experience working in a correctional mental health setting preferred.
• Ability to obtain a security clearance, to include drug screen and criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Use recreational activities to accomplish treatment objectives.
• Foster skill building and problem solving in support of psychological stabilization for patients.
• Work under the direction of professional mental health staff.
