About The Position

The Certified Recovery Support Specialist (CRS-S) and plays a pivotal role in supporting individuals recovering from substance use disorders/mental health issues. CRS’s use their lived experience and professional training to help participants navigate their recovery journey, access resources, and build sustainable support systems.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1-2 years of personal experience in recovery from substance use disorders or mental health issues.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Empathetic and non-judgmental attitude.
• Basic computer skills and experience with data entry preferred.
• Current certification as a PA Certified Recovery Support Specialist or eligible for testing within one year of hire.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable, insured personal transportation.
• Ability to obtain ACT 33 & 34 clearances and additional clearances as required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct support and guidance to individuals in recovery.
• Assist participants in setting and achieving personalized recovery goals.
• Help participants access community resources and advocate on their behalf.
• Assist in navigating legal issues including but not limited to criminal, civil, and Family court obligations.
• Maintain accurate and confidential records of participant interactions.
• Provide immediate support during crises and develop strategies for managing high-risk situations.
• Facilitate support groups and serve as a positive role model.
• Engage in community outreach and promote the CRSS program.
