About The Position

The Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA) will function as a role model, exhibiting competency in personal recovery and use of coping skills, serve as an advocate providing peer support and resources for clients served.

Requirements

Applicants must be fully certified or provisionally certified as a Certified Recovery Peer Advocate (CRPA).
Ability to obtain and maintain Justice Center fingerprinting clearances as required by contract and state regulations.
Ability to travel throughout the five boroughs.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Experience and/or interest in working with a culturally diverse population within an addiction treatment setting.

Nice To Haves

Relevant personal recovery experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Community navigation and advocacy to enhance access to treatment services, mental health care, physical health care, social services, and other support systems.
Wellness and recovery planning.
Peer mentoring, role modeling, and assistance in developing coping skills.
Education and support for accessing telehealth services.
Education on pathways to recovery and guidance on accessing services and supports.
Assistance with reentry from the criminal justice system.
