As a Construction Materials Technician (CMT) for Bunnell-Lammons Engineering, Inc. (BLE), you will be working under the immediate supervision and direction of a registered professional engineer. This role is crucial as CMTs play a critical part in ensuring quality assurance for every construction project, regardless of its size. You will collaborate closely with site managers and engineers to perform essential inspection and sampling services. Your responsibilities will include actively collecting concrete, soil, and other site materials for testing, as well as continuously monitoring the activities of general contractors. This may involve onsite testing and reporting related to earthwork and soil construction, foundation and subgrade evaluations, reinforcing steel, concrete placements, masonry, and asphalt testing. In addition to these tasks, you will be responsible for accurately preparing daily reports for submission to the assigned project engineer. These reports will not only summarize your test results but will also include detailed observations of the construction site. This position requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to work effectively in a time-conscious manner. You will need to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with team members, BLE leadership, clients, and local, state, and federal authorities. The role demands a self-motivated individual who can work independently while completing scheduled tasks efficiently. You will be expected to work outdoors on construction sites in various weather conditions and for extended periods.
