About The Position

As our Medical Coder, you’ll play a key role in making sure our coding practices are accurate, compliant, and efficient. You will review and analyze clinical data, medical records, and claims to ensure compliance with regulations. Your day-to-day responsibilities will include assigning and sequencing codes for services rendered with precision, conducting audits and coding reviews, collaborating closely with billing and insurance teams, educating clinicians and staff on compliant coding practices, suggesting improvements to processes, and providing statistical data to support broader departmental research and analysis.

Requirements

  • Certification is a must – CPC, CCS-P, RHIT, RHIA, or CPMA (dual certifications are a big plus!).
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience and expertise go a long way.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10, ICD-9-CM, CPT-4, anatomy, physiology, claims adjudication, and ideally pediatric coding.
  • Experience with AthenaOne EMR is a bonus.
  • Exceptional organization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Someone who values confidentiality and professionalism in every interaction.
