About The Position

RieLes Group is seeking multiple experienced Certified Phlebotomy Technicians who are interested in working in the Pollock, LA area. The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is a federal law enforcement agency under the U.S. Department of Justice responsible for operating and managing federal prisons across the United States. It oversees the custody, safety, security, and rehabilitation of individuals convicted of federal crimes, providing services such as housing, medical care, education, and reentry programs. The Federal Correctional Complex Pollock (FCC Pollock), located in Pollock, Louisiana, is one of the facilities operated by the BOP. It is a multi-level security prison complex that houses male inmates and includes a high-security United States Penitentiary (USP), a medium-security Federal Correctional Institution (FCI), and a minimum-security Satellite Prison Camp, along with on-site medical and support services RieLes Group has been providing meaningful opportunities that move people to social and economic empowerment since 2009. Requirements

  • Must be fully licensed or certified as one of the following: Phlebotomy Technician (CPT) Medical Assistant (MA) Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) Medical Laboratory Scientist (MLS) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
  • Minimum 1 year of laboratory and phlebotomy experience
  • Experience with specimen collection, packaging, and referral lab shipment
  • Knowledge of ACLIA Waivered Laboratory standards
  • 3 letters of reference
  • Current CPR certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross)
  • Resume, diplomas, certifications, and supporting documentation required
  • Ability to pass drug screening and law enforcement background investigation
  • Must be free of communicable diseases
  • TB testing documentation may be required
  • Immediate reporting of any adverse licensure action

Responsibilities

  • Measure vital signs and assist with patient flow
  • Organize, schedule, and perform laboratory studies
  • Perform specimen collection (including DNA processing and in-processing exams)
  • Ensure proper specimen packaging and transport to the BOP Reference Lab
  • Document and track laboratory results in BEMR
  • Notify providers of lab results and ensure follow-up
  • Maintain laboratory records and equipment
  • Assist with ACLIA re-certification requirements
  • Maintain knowledge of the Health Services Manual and lab procedures
  • Coordinate with HSA regarding lab operations and supplies
