About The Position

AIMS Locum Tenens is seeking Certified Phlebotomy Technicians to provide phlebotomy and specimen collection services at Malcom Grow Medical Center, Joint Base Andrews. These professionals will support lab operations by accurately collecting and labeling blood samples, preparing specimens for lab analysis, and assisting with mobile blood drives. The work must be performed in accordance with Military Treatment Facility (MTF) protocols and Joint Commission (JC) standards. General Duties: Work within WRNMMC/MTF standing orders and protocols. Report to the Director of Laboratory Services or ASBBC for mobile drives. Support medical readiness and patient satisfaction programs. Specific Duties: Perform venipuncture and collect blood using age-appropriate techniques. Label specimens accurately and maintain strict sanitary conditions. Prepare samples for lab processing and send to correct departments. Update and maintain patient records in medical systems. Participate in committees or quality initiatives when assigned. Set up and break down equipment for mobile blood drives, lifting up to 40 lbs. Participate in ongoing orientation and competency assessments.

Requirements

  • Education: Completion of an accredited training program in phlebotomy.
  • Certification: ASCP, Health and Human Services, or American Medical Certification.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of phlebotomy experience.
  • Licensure: None required.
  • Citizenship: Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication in English (spoken and written).
  • Proficient in data entry and medical record systems.
  • Strong attention to detail in specimen collection and documentation.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and assist with mobile equipment setup.
  • Professional, courteous, and patient-centered care approach.
  • Must comply with MTF immunization standards due to biological exposure.
  • Must pass background screening and credentialing at Joint Base Andrews.
