As a Phlebotomist of the Support Services Laboratory, your duties include performing pre-analytical and post-analytical activities and specimen processing duties. You will perform phlebotomy on inpatients and outpatients, including neonatal/pediatric patients, and perform EKG in an outpatient setting. You will also triage all lab samples and requests after verification of appropriate information, enter and verify patient and test info into the computer, generate computer labels for specimens and deliver them to appropriate areas, prepare samples for transport to referral labs, and document draws, added tests, and cancelled/rejected specimens.
