About The Position

The Phlebotomist is responsible for performing venipuncture and specimen collection in a clinical setting, ensuring accuracy, patient safety, and adherence to established protocols. This role supports laboratory operations in hospitals, commercial labs, or blood banks.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of phlebotomy experience in a hospital, commercial laboratory, or blood bank setting
  • High School Diploma or GED with completion of a Phlebotomy Program
  • Phlebotomy Technician Certification (CPT)
  • Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification

Responsibilities

  • Perform venipuncture and capillary blood collection on patients of all ages
  • Properly label, handle, and transport specimens in accordance with safety and compliance standards
  • Verify patient identity and ensure accurate documentation
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of phlebotomy work areas
  • Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times
  • Provide excellent patient care, ensuring comfort and professionalism during procedures
  • Assist with specimen processing and documentation as needed
  • Adhere to all organizational policies and regulatory requirements
