About The Position

We’re looking for a certified pharmacy technician who’s ready to bring their skills and experience into the specialty pharmacy space. As our Pharmacy Liaison , you’ll play a pivotal role as the bridge between patients and pharmacists, taking a hands-on approach to ensure exceptional care. In this role, your pharmacy background will allow you to support patients with complex therapies while also enabling our clinical teams to deliver outstanding results. You’ll combine customer service excellence with a deep understanding of pharmacy operations, helping reshape the patient experience while contributing directly to the growth and success of our specialty pharmacy—and to the health system’s overall performance. Working with specialty patients and their medications requires the same dedication and precision as managing high-value accounts: it’s about cultivating trust, delivering consistent support, and driving meaningful outcomes. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required; higher education preferred
  • State registration as a pharmacy technician (IL)
  • National pharmacy technician certification (PTCB or ExCPT).
  • Minimum 2+ years of direct pharmacy experience
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a fast-paced clinical setting.
  • Culturally competent and empathetic toward diverse patient populations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and EMR/pharmacy platforms.
  • Strong problem-solving and independent decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of transplants, hepatitis C, infectious diseases (including HIV), oncology and/or other specialty medication therapies preferred.
  • Bilingual or multi-lingual skills (beyond that of English) appropriate to the patient population served is a plus.
  • Knowledge of prior authorization request process to third party payors.
  • Familiarity with 340B drug program and ACO hospital models.
  • Knowledge of EPIC, Salesforce, Liberty, or other pharmacy and/or EMR systems.

Responsibilities

  • Enroll eligible patients into Clearway Health’s specialty pharmacy program and meet set enrollment targets.
  • Retain patients through consistent follow-up, refill coordination, and proactive adherence checkins.
  • Navigate electronic health records (EPIC) to support prior authorizations, clinical documentation, and communications.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with patients, caregivers, and clinical providers.
  • Serve as a pharmacy point-of-contact for clinic teams, resolving issues and triaging patient needs.
  • Participate in performance reporting and workflow optimization initiatives.
  • Train and mentor new team members in clinic-based liaison responsibilities.
