Job Summary Under the direction of the Pharmacy Manager and in close partnership with pharmacy and clinic staff, the Pharmacy Technician helps ensure JPCHC operates a compliant, patient-centered retail pharmacy. This role is key in supporting patients’ health and wellness through accurate medication dispensing, customer service, and meaningful integration of pharmacy services into patient care.

Requirements

  • Indiana Pharmacy Technician license, without restrictions.
  • Prior experience in ambulatory, community, or retail pharmacy.
  • Familiarity with FQHC models of care and the 340B program preferred.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong follow-up and communication skills.
  • Professionalism and confidentiality in accordance with State and Federal regulations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and electronic health records.
  • Ability to manage vendor relationships effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • National Pharmacy Technician Certification (PTCH or NHA).

Responsibilities

  • Provide patient-centered service with a strong focus on patient safety and care.
  • Accurately interpret prescriptions and enter data into the pharmacy dispensing system.
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient records.
  • Submit insurance claims and resolve rejections.
  • Complete prescription production: NDC verification, counting, bottling, and labeling.
  • Dispense medications to patients/caregivers after pharmacist verification and patient ID confirmation.
  • Manage inventory, including wholesaler check-ins and cycle counts.
  • Prepare and reconstitute medications as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, sanitary, and organized work environment.
  • Assist patients and clinic staff in navigating medication access options (standard prescriptions, 340B, PAP, samples, etc.).
  • Deliver medications to other clinic locations or patient homes as needed.
  • Retain required documentation per compliance standards.
