We are hiring Certified Pharmacy Technicians for our Central Fill in Spring, Texas. Walmart Central Fill Pharmacy is a specialized type of pharmacy that focuses on processing and dispensing of prescriptions for multiple retail pharmacy locations within a region. Unlike a traditional pharmacy, Central Fill is full of automation allowing prescriptions to be filled fast and accurately, but the best part of Central Fill pharmacy is taking care of our patients in the community. While we are not patient facing, our job provides retail pharmacies the ability to spend much deserved time providing clinical services and education to the communities they serve. The candidate must meet state requirements to work as a Certified Pharmacy Technician, must be currently certified as a pharmacy technician (on the PTCB website or the NHA website) and registere on the Maryland State Board of Pharmacy website. The starting pay for a Certified Pharmacy Technician is $19.50/Hr., plus a $2.00/Hr. shift differential for the 2nd shift and $3.00/Hr. shift differential for the 3rd shift. We may be hiring for the following shifts: 1st shift: from 6 am - 6 pm 2nd shift from 3 pm - 3 am Primary set schedule is offered. Schedules are subject to change to meet business need and due to associate availability. Must have flexibility to work any day during the week between shift availability times as needed for facility holiday closures, training, and overtime. Job duties: Assist pharmacists in the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies as prescribed by physicians. Process prescriptions, including counting, bottling, packaging, labeling, and recording medication dosages. Receive and process prescriptions, including entering prescription information into computer system and verifying accuracy. Perform inventory control, including stocking and re-stocking medications and supplies, removing expired items, and reporting on inventory levels. Answer phone calls, manage customer queries and forward complex queries to the pharmacist. Process insurance claims and manage payments. Comply with all security measures and quality standards of pharmaceutical care. Maintain a clean and organized pharmacy environment, including storing and disposing of medications and supplies properly. Participate in training and development programs to improve skills and knowledge. Participate in quality improvement initiatives to improve patient care and pharmacy operations.
