What You’ll Do As a PRN Certified Pharmacy Technician, you will support the daily operations of a clinic‑based retail pharmacy by performing technical pharmacy functions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist. Responsibilities include: Prescription Processing & Patient Support Receive, process, and fill prescriptions accurately and efficiently. Select, count, package, and label medications in accordance with legal and departmental standards. Assist patients with prescription pickup, setting up same day home delivery, questions, and over‑the-counter needs. Provide excellent customer service with clear communication and a patient‑centered approach. Collaboration & Care Coordination Work closely with clinic providers, nurses, and staff to ensure smooth medication workflows and timely patient care. Communicate medication issues, clarifications, or refill needs with pharmacy and clinic teams. Help support a seamless, integrated care model for patients receiving treatment onsite. Operational & Administrative Support Perform cashier duties, process payments, and manage patient transactions. Maintain accurate records, including prescription data and controlled substance documentation. Operate pharmacy computer systems to enter, retrieve, and update patient and medication information. Assist with inventory management, including stocking, rotating, and checking for expired medications. Maintain a clean, orderly, and safe work environment. Professional Standards Follow all HIPAA, confidentiality, and compliance policies. Participate in required training and maintain certification and competencies. Provide support to pharmacy operations as needed, including coverage for staff absences, weekends, evenings, or holidays based on PRN scheduling.
