Requirements

• Active National Certification as a Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or the National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
• Pharmacy Technician, PHT, KY OR Pharmacy Intern, PHI, KY You can register for either licensure by clicking here: Kentucky Board of Pharmacy.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year experience working in pharmacy.
• High School Diploma or GED

Responsibilities

• Supports & assists the Pharmacist in the medication use process by providing safe and efficient medication management & patient care to patients (neonate to geriatric), physicians, employees, and the public.
• Requires following appropriate guidelines under the supervision of the pharmacist for medication preparation and distribution.
• Functions in an environment which requires teamwork and flexibility to provide medications to patients.
• Responsibilities include IV admixture, assisting the pharmacist with the dispensing of medications, maintaining medications in unit-based cabinets, taking verbal refill approvals from provider s offices, insurance verification, working with technology, and deliveries of medications.
