Organization: Pharm Inpt Central Tech Job Summary: Performs tasks within the pharmacy in direct support of the ongoing duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist with occasional guidance. Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of a final dosage form for administration to a patient and are directly supervised by a pharmacist. Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triaging calls to the appropriate person if they cannot answer the requested information. Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control. . Vanderbilt University Hospital is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Central Pharmacy! Position Highlights This position will be located in our new pharmacy satellite in the Jim Ayers Tower. Responsibilities in the satellite will include inventory management, medication dispensing and distribution throughout the Jim Ayers Tower, and IV compounding. The satellite will open officially in the summer of 2026 and until it opens the Certified Pharmacy Technician will help support these care areas and other patient care units across Vanderbilt University Hospital from the VUH Inpatient Central Pharmacy. Hours are Monday - Friday rotating between 5:00am - 1:30pm and 6:00am - 2:30pm. Every third weekend rotation. Hours rotate between 5:00am - 1:30pm and 6:00am - 2:30pm. Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered.
