Organization: Pharm Inpt Night Shift Tech Job Summary: Performs tasks within the pharmacy in direct support of the ongoing duties and responsibilities of a pharmacist with occasional guidance. Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of a final dosage form for administration to a patient and are directly supervised by a pharmacist. Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triaging calls to the appropriate person if they cannot answer the requested information. Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control. . Vanderbilt University Hospital is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician for the Inpatient Central Pharmacy on night shift! Position Highlights This is a 7 on/7 off position. Hours are 6:30pm to 6:30am Wednesday through Monday. Tuesday hours are 7:00pm to 6:30am. Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered. This position will allow you to cross-train across all pharmacy operations including managing central pharmacy workflows, delivering medications to Omnicell's, preparing sterile products, and supporting OR pharmacy. Earn extra income with shift differentials.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered.
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician - National Healthcareer Association - National HealthCareer Association
  • Certified Pharmacy Technician - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board - Pharmacy Technician Certification Board
  • LIC-Pharmacy Technician - Tennessee
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

  • Assists the pharmacist in the preparation, dispensing and/or distribution of medications.
  • Applies departmental processes regarding inventory control.
  • Performs activities as directed by Pharmacists &/or Pharmacy Managers in accordance with federal, state and local laws/regulations and hospital policies.
  • Delivers outstanding customer service to both internal and external customers.
  • Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
