Minimum Job Requirements: High School Degree or GED Active National Pharm Tech Cert (CPhT) is required Approved cert is through Pharm Tech Cert Board (PCTB) and ExCPT Cert by the National Healthcareer Association Active registration with the Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a Certified Pharmacy Technician Must be able to compound sterile products and maintain a sterile environment Up to 1 year experience Technical Pharmacy Experience must be as a Pharmacy Technician II to be eligible to move into the Pharmacy Technician III position. Job Overview: A hospital Pharmacy Technician III is a healthcare professional who plays an integral role in the pharmacy operations. Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, the pharmacy technician assists the pharmacist in the distribution of medications to patients in the hospital (inpatient and outpatient units, emergency room, and operating room). The distribution of medications, includes but is not limited to, selecting, counting, compounding, packing, labeling, and delivering medications. A Pharmacy Technician III is responsible for the preparation of sterile compounds, including chemotherapy and hazardous substances and for maintaining the sterile environment in the IV Room. Employees must be proficient in accessing and viewing the electronic health record and pharmacy automated systems. Employees will work in multiple areas of the pharmacy to maintain competency and broaden skills for all areas of the job scope
