Organization: Pharmacy Services Job Summary: Performs tasks within the department which directly support the ongoing duties and responsibilities of the pharmacist(s). Tasks performed contribute directly to the preparation and/or dispensing of medications while under the direct supervision of a pharmacist. Provides customer service by answering phone requests and triages calls to the appropriate person if he/she cannot answer the requested information. Applies departmental processes, as guided by corporate initiatives, regarding inventory control. . Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital is hiring a Certified Pharmacy Technician PRN! Position Highlights Shifts hours vary based on pharmacy needs. Pharmacy hours of operation are 7:00am - 7:00pm Monday - Friday and 7:00am - 5:00pm Saturday, Sunday and holidays. Must be a Certified Pharmacy Technician through either PTCB or NHA in order to be considered. Allied health is among the fastest growing occupations in healthcare today. Relevant Work Experience
1 year Experience
Graduate of an approved discipline specific program

Responsibilities

Assists the pharmacist(s) in the preparation of medications.
Assists the pharmacist(s) in the distribution of medications.
Assists the pharmacist(s) in processes regarding inventory control.
Operates computer systems and utilizes technology.
Familiar with organization and function of all units.
Ability to demonstrate effective communication skills, empathy, and unconditional positive regard toward all patients and co-workers.
