About The Position

Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Pharmacy Technician for a PRN position to cover sick time, vacation, and PTO in the pharmacy. This role is not full-time and is designed to utilize pharmacy skills in a unique environment. The ideal candidate will provide excellent customer service to both hospital discharge patients and regular customers. The pharmacy operates Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5:30 pm, closed for lunch, and is closed on major holidays. Requirements

• High School Degree or GED
• Valid ExCPT Certification or PTCB certification and registration with State Board of Pharmacy
• Previous experience in Retail, Ambulatory, Outpatient, Hospital, Acute Care, or Home Infusion Pharmacy (preferred)
• Knowledge of pharmacy terminology, medication names, and aseptic technique
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Problem-solving skills
• Ability to engage with staff and patients in a professional manner
• Ability to be proactive in a rapidly changing environment

Responsibilities

• Receiving and verifying the accuracy and authenticity of prescriptions
• Reviewing and recording patient information with their prescription in compliance with guidelines
• Providing instructions to educate patients on the correct way to take their medicine
• Supporting the Pharmacist in the daily operation of the pharmacy
• Protecting employees and patients by adhering to infection-control protocols and policies
• Performing inventory control, compliance audits, and financial transactions
• Maintaining pharmacy records
• Providing customer service
