About The Position

The Certified Pharmacy Technician position at Bronson Healthcare involves assisting pharmacists in filling prescriptions and preparing IV admixtures under the supervision of a Registered Pharmacist. Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Permanent Pharmacy Technician license in good standing with the State of Michigan.
  • 2-5 years of relevant pharmacy experience in a hospital, retail pharmacy, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Skills in mathematics and basic algebra.
  • Effective communication skills to report and discuss findings with pharmacists and hospital personnel.
  • Ability to foster a positive, professional working relationship with coworkers.
  • Self-motivation and accuracy to complete routine and urgent tasks.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize tasks and provide timely follow-up.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient pharmacy purchasing of supplies and medications.
  • Experience functioning in the role of OR Technician, ED Technician, or Decentralized Pharmacy Technician.

Responsibilities

  • Assist pharmacists in filling prescriptions and preparing IV admixtures.
  • Interpret, transcribe, and prepare medications for dispensing.
  • Fill orders with appropriate medications for review and approval by a Registered Pharmacist.
  • Perform technical, clerical, and supply duties as required.
  • Demonstrate competencies specific to the population served in direct patient care.
  • Maintain all competencies of a Pharmacy Technician I.
  • Assist in obtaining patient home medication histories and clarifying/reconciling home medications.
  • Provide patient medication education under the direction of the pharmacist.
  • Perform sterile medication compounding and maintain pharmacy robotic medication compounding equipment.
