About The Position

The Compounding Pharmacy Technician at Elements Compounding Pharmacy is responsible for preparing and repackaging custom-compounded prescription medications for both human and veterinary use. This role requires adherence to strict compliance guidelines and quality control standards while working in a team-oriented environment. The position offers a structured 40-hour workweek with occasional Saturday shifts, ensuring a work-life balance with no Sunday or holiday work.

Requirements

  • Authorized to work in the United States.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) license in good standing.
  • Current AZ State Board license (CPhT) in good standing.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1+ years of experience working as a compounding pharmacy technician.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, be flexible, and multi-functional.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and repackage medications into patient- and unit-dose specific packaging.
  • Follow the compounding formulation record to weigh, mix, and package compounded medications according to specified guidelines.
  • Use compliance guidelines to ensure a safe, pure, and effective compounded product.
  • Complete training to maintain compliance with AZ State Board and PCAB guidelines.
  • Conduct potency testing on compounded prescriptions and ensure satisfactory results.
  • Maintain quality control throughout the compounding labs according to PCAB & USP 795 Standards.
  • Assist the pharmacist with inventory management.
  • Adhere to State Board of Pharmacy compounding and general pharmacy laws.
  • Participate in daily and weekly cleaning routines to maintain cleanliness in lab areas.
  • Represent the pharmacy professionally towards customers, clients, vendors, doctors, and co-workers.
