About The Position

Purpose: Assists the Staff Pharmacists in providing professional Pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Technician will be able to perform in any functional area of the Department to provide accurate and efficient dispensing of medications. Level I technician will have expectation of becoming National Certified with a Nationally Accredited Certification Board and must learn sterile compounding techniques.

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent
• Level I technician will have expectation of becoming National Certified with a Nationally Accredited Certification Board and must learn sterile compounding techniques.
• Registration with the Iowa Board of Pharmacy Examiners prior to the start of employment as a Certified Pharmacy Technician or Technician Trainee. A trainee must become a nationally certified pharmacy technician within 12 months of hire.
• Valid drivers license.
• No experience required.
