Requirements

  • High School Grad or Equivalent
  • 3 years of pharmacy technician experience, in a retail pharmacy, mail-order pharmacy, central fill or hospital setting
  • Registered Pharmacy Technician
  • PTCB - Certified Pharmacy Technician

Responsibilities

  • Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
  • Primary responsibility is the provision of distributive functions and pharmacy operational tasks, which includes but is not limited to assisting the pharmacist with all duties of preparing and dispensing of medications, inventory management, pharmacy billing and customer service, and regulatory compliance.
  • Performs duties necessary for the effective daily operation of all department services and programs.
  • Accurately responds to prescription dispensing requests, coordinates medication access and adherence, prepares medications for pharmacist review/check, performs claim adjudication and processes customer (patient) account reconciliation.
  • Facilitates prior authorization and appeals processes as well as patient management program operations.
  • Leads AdventHealth employee prescription plan diabetic pump supply and CGM pharmacy dispensing operations, performing all data entry, PA coordination and member communication activities ensuring the prescription plan is working as designed.
  • Plays an active role in customer service triage processes and serves as a point of escalation for patients regarding diabetic pump supply and continuous glucose monitoring (CGM) benefits.
  • Processes all schedule II narcotic prescriptions, working with pharmacists to ensure appropriate fill dates and safety protocols regarding controlled substance reporting (E-Forcse).
  • Manages pharmacies Cperx application, ensuring all electronically canceled prescriptions received via SureScripts are addressed in a timely manner, coordinating with clinical pharmacists as needed.
  • Trains new hires to the department on prescription data entry, claims adjudication and patient record management processes, offering ongoing support.
