About The Position

As a Peer Support Specialist within our Mental Health Services team, you’ll play a vital role in helping individuals in recovery pursue their goals, build meaningful lives, and develop skills for long-term success. This position is ideal for someone who is compassionate, collaborative, and motivated to use their lived experience to inspire hope and change. Starting Rate: $13.50, based on experience and qualifications

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
At least one year of volunteer or paid experience in a human service or peer role within the last three years
Certified Peer Specialist Certificate
Valid Pennsylvania Driver’s License, automobile, and insurance
Required clearances: Act 33, Act 34, and FBI fingerprinting
Ability to travel throughout York and Adams counties
Commitment to ethics, confidentiality, and continuous learning

Responsibilities

Support peers in identifying and achieving recovery goals
Model recovery through mentorship, honesty, and encouragement
Promote self-advocacy and build confidence through shared experience
Provide individual and group coaching, education, and orientation to recovery culture
Connect individuals with community resources and natural supports
Document case notes, progress, and service delivery accurately and timely
Collaborate with internal and external providers to support person-centered planning
Maintain appropriate boundaries and uphold ethical standards
