The Certified Peer Recovery Coach will help individuals create their own recovery paths by providing individual and group sessions. They will familiarize him/herself with community-based resources and use that knowledge to assist clients in accessing appropriate aftercare planning. The Certified Peer Recovery Coach meets with clients to provide recovery-based activities directly related to skill development, engagement in treatment, discharge planning from PHP/IOP and is responsible for routinely collecting and entering data, specific to treatment eligibility. The Certified Peer Recovery Coach works collaboratively with clinicians, clients, care coordinators, family/supports and community agencies as needed, with the goal of increasing individuals’ recovery skills, provide recovery support, assist individuals with increasing their success to complete treatment and linking clients to appropriate continuing care resources. The Certified Peer Recovery Coach acts as a member of a multi-disciplinary team of treatment providers and serves as an advocate for the client.
