About The Position

The Guidance & Advocacy (G&A) Peer Coach provides the first point of contact and ongoing inspirational support for members entering New Freedom programming. This role leads new member tours, delivers mission-aligned messaging, and serves as a positive role model in personal recovery. The Peer Coach offers guidance and support throughout the program, helping members identify needs, connect with appropriate staff, and navigate their recovery journey. The G&A Peer Coach also oversees all housing accommodations and related logistics. They orient new members to their living spaces and act as the central communication link between Clinical, Housekeeping, and Facilities teams to ensure smooth coordination and readiness across departments.

Responsibilities

  • Observe members, document behaviors, address concerns, and communicate unusual activity to mental health professionals and treatment teams.
  • Support member recovery by assisting with daily living activities, goal setting, recovery planning, social skill development, and re-entry readiness.
  • Coordinate care by collaborating with Case Managers, Treatment Teams, Guidance & Advocacy, Facilities, and housekeeping to support intakes, discharges, housing, and member needs.
  • Facilitate member orientation and engagement by eliminating confusion around program expectations, navigating group schedules, introducing cohort teams, staff, and parole, and scheduling mentor meetings.
  • Promote the New Freedom Program through guided tours, follow-ups with new members, and additional staff support during non-tour times in accordance with training standards.
  • Manage housing logistics by monitoring availability, coordinating daily accommodations for intakes, maintaining organized housing records, and ensuring cohort, gender, and floor assignments.
  • Provide operational support including intake/wellness UA assistance, mailroom duties, laundry net bag distribution, ID badge management, and compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Maintain professional and organizational standards by meeting KPIs, completing required training and Relias learning, participating in clinical supervision, and supporting supervised trips and in-house activities.
  • Performing additional duties as assigned to support our mission.
