About The Position

The Certified Payroll Reporting Specialist is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of all Certified Payroll reporting, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations. This role involves maintaining employee timekeeping records, calculating wages and deductions, and preparing necessary reports for government agencies and other stakeholders. Essentially, they bridge the gap between payroll and compliance, particularly for projects with prevailing wage requirements. This role is responsible for managing payroll processes related to prevailing wage jobs, ensuring compliance with all state and city regulations.  This role requires a high level of expertise in prevailing wage laws and involves administrative responsibilities for multiple projects, including interaction with payroll processing, communication with management, and accurate calculations of wage rates.

Requirements

  • High School diploma/ GED, required.
  • 2-5 years experience in complex payroll processing environment for 4000+ employees.
  • Must have the ability to effectively read, write and communicate in English with employees and customers.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Understanding of basic administrative procedures, required.
  • Ability to work effectively as a collaborator, required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record required.
  • Must be able to comply with Summit’s Drug and Alcohol policy and Background screening requirements, which may also include customer specific requirements based on contractual agreement.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience, highly preferred.
  • Experience with prevailing wage/public work compliance (Certified Payroll, LCP Tracker) and reporting of hours, preferred.
  • Experience working with Salesforce timekeeping, preferred.
  • Oracle OTL/HCM/Payroll is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with the Payroll Specialists processing weekly prevailing wage payroll to ensure all rates are updated timely and accurately, including fringes and reporting classifications
  • Independently identify and resolve all compensation matters regarding payroll adjustments, including prevailing wage, manual checks, certified payrolls, audits, and inquiries.
  • Keep accurate calculations of prevailing wage rates by working closely with branch office administration on timely reporting of additions and changes.
  • Keep up to date on time reporting and payroll systems as they relate to having the correct information needed to ensure accurate prevailing rates are used and all information needed to accurately complete all certified payroll reporting (e.g. Oracle payroll and OTL, Salesforce)
  • Assist and communicate with Managers, Project Managers, and General Contractors in complying with various prevailing wage or certified reporting contract requirements
  • Provide excellent customer service to Summit employees and foster partnerships with other departments
  • Meticulous attention to detail is crucial for accuracy in payroll calculations and reporting
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain organized records
  • Other duties may be assigned.
